Jensen Rolls Out Anyware Car PC
I’m a gadget freak, yes, but I’m not sure if I should be excited or wary of this new Jensen thing. Two things I should mention. First, I can’t read anything on the site. When I click on links it errors out, blaming XML. That’s a likely story! Second, the thing looks chunky. Usually when you stick something against a white background you can’t tell how big it is. With a 7″ screen, though, you have a general idea of its dimensions, but it looks thick.
Otherwise, its just a chunky Tablet PC crammed into a somewhat industrial little case. The unit, priced at around US$1,499, even comes with a window mount. Why not! Its being billed as a navigational unit with PC capabilities. It even sports a 30GB drive.
Personally, I’m not sure I would have made this. If I were going to do something like this for a car, I’d make it one of those pop-up display types and cram it into a dash unit with a trunk unit for storage. This just seems far to easy a target for thieving. Then again, I could be completely wrong.
