Engadget has the dirt on HTC’s new Touch Diamond handset. The gadget, which is clearly targeted directly at Apple’s iPhone, is a compact Windows Mobile 6.1 touchscreen handset which offers numerous advanced features including an accelerometer, YouTube playback, the Opera Mobile browser, and HTC’s new TouchFLO 3D technology. What matters, however, is that it will only be available through Orange in the EU starting in June and there are no specific dates otherwise.

UPDATE: In an official press release from HTC the Touch Diamond will be available in the EU as previously mentioned, will be available in Asia and the Middle East “later this quarter”, and will be available in North America and Latin American countries in the “second half of 2008″. No pricing details were made available.
