Laptop Magazine was able to wrangle a great interview with MSI’s US Director of Sales, Andy Tung, who whipped out a load of details on the US-bound version of the MSI Wind ultra-compact lappy. In a nutshell, it will come in the 10″ model only, ship in black, silver, white, and pink, and will come in two OS variants. First is the Novell SUSE-based model for US$399 which has 512MBs of RAM and an 80GB drive. Second is the Windows XP version for US$549 which bumps RAM to 1GB and adds Bluetooth. The MSI Wind hits US shores on June 3rd.
The one thing which concerned me, however, is that when I went to the MSI webpage I found the ad pictured to the left. Why would anyone advertise that their lappies are so hot that a lappy cooler is a “Must Have for your MSI Notebook”? Wow.
