Have you ever had a real yen for some ice cream and you go to 31 Flavors, but what you get doesn’t taste nearly as good as what you remember when you were a kid? That’s kind of what the Envy is. It looks absolutely wicked and is gorgeous thin and sleek black, but what you get under the hood leaves something to be desired, especially when you consider the price. You can get a 1.6GHz model for US$2,099 then ratchet it all the way up to a fully-loaded, screaming 1.8GHz model for US$3,399. Let’s settle this here and now; you’re paying for the secks appeal, not the machine. It may have that cool ROM-based mini OS which boots up in seconds, but it still runs Windows Gangsta.
