Now that the netbook craze has started to plateau, keep your eyes open for the MID revolution. The MID, or Mobile Internet Device, has been around for some time, most successfully in the form of Nokia’s Internet Tablet line (the 770, N800, and N810). This isn’t going to last long, though, as BenQ is illustrating with its Aries2. The unit will reportedly sport an 800MHz Atom, 512MBs of RAM, and a 4GB SSD. It will also likely include various forms of wireless. So, why is it in the Rumor Mill? The only word right now is that it will be released in the EU sometime this quarter. I’ll believe it when I see it.
