CES: Product Announcement Hoedown #2
I had some problems with the publication system, so here are some new items from CES of last week. LG got all Dick Tracy on everyone with the new GD910 Watch Phone, which will start production later this year, though I haven’t heard which carrier will vend it. If the terms “eyesore” or “social pariah” are in your validation list for selecting a new phone, your willingness and US$142 can get your a complete Hello Kitty phone kit, complete with a pink handset which is shaped like no other before it (and hopefully none to follow). Nova Mobility Systems has announced their new ruggedized SideArm 2 UMPC, though I tried their web site and it doesn’t seem to work right now. I’ll link to it anyway, in case it comes up again. Nyko rolled out their new Wand, the first 3rd party controller for Nintendo’s Wii which has a built in rechargable battery pack and will ship in April. Axiotron got jiggy with their new Modbook Pro, based on the new 2.4GHz Apple’s unibody MacBook Pro, which now sports a swank new pen and finger capable touchscreen display. It’ll run you a swank US$5K, as well, but only US$3K if you bring your own. Finally, Nokia has announced their hot S60-based E63 for US sales, so make up your mind. Ruby Red or Ultramarine Blue.
