US$3 LED Lightbulbs… Almost!

This stuff just kills me. Why couldn’t the team at Cambridge come up with this 5 years ago before CFL lamps would get pushed hard. See, my problem with CFLs is that they’re full of Mercury. Danged if it wasn’t bad enough being in fish and now in High Fructose Corn Syrup, but if you drop a CFL and it breaks you need to call in experts to clean it up or you could be cited for not properly cleaning up a toxic waste spill. Feh! So now the Cambridge boffins come up with a US$3 LED lightbulb which can prevent us from having to spend US$30 per like they do now. Ridiculously enough, we won’t see them get to market for another couple of years, so it will allow CFLs to gain even more traction. Dang and diggity dang!
