Jeez! Someone had to say it in the midst of all this doom talk. So, if you’re unwilling to get yourself a shiny, new Mac, follow these steps to eradicate and/or prevent the Conficker worm from taking effect on your Windows box:

Don’t use Microsoft’s Internet Exploder or Office software for any reason. Use Firefox and OpenOffice.org 3.x instead.
Don’t go to stupid ass sites.
Don’t download crap “just cuz”.
