Planter’s Overcomplicates Peanuts
I have to say, I’m outraged. Planter’s, the paragon of tree nuts, at least in the US, has gone too far. My daughter is not allergic to nuts, but she is allergic to a wide range of other things. Take a gander at the ingreditents Planter’s adds to their plain, dry roasted peanuts:
Ingredients: PEANUTS, SALT, SUGAR, CORNSTARCH, MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE (FLAVOR ENHANCER), CORN SYRUP SOLIDS, DRIED YEAST, GELATIN, PAPRIKA, ONION AND GARLIC POWDERS, SPICES, NATURAL FLAVOR. ALLERGY INFORMATION: MANUFACTURED ON EQUIPMENT THAT ALSO PROCESSES TREE NUTS. MAY CONTAIN TREE NUTS.
This is unacceptable! These are supposed to be plain peanuts. The ingredients should be peanuts and salt. That’s it! This is a shocking breach of values and rest assured I won’t be buying Planter’s products until they fix this.
