Is A Palm Upgrade An OS Downgrade?
Posted by Tyler Regas on August 17, 2002 01:11 PM
There's nothing to worry about, Jim. While HotSync does back up all of your m500's databases to your desktop, the OS itself remains in ROM. As such, when you upgrade to the m515, it will only move all files, applications, preferences, and related databases to your new PDA. The OS does not get copied to your device, so you would not be performing an unwanted "downgrade". Upgrade with confidence. Email This Story

Jim's question is: "I am concerned that if I upgrade my m505 to an m515 and sync up all my applications from the m500 to the m515 may generate a conflict with the sync trying to load Palm OS 4.0 when the M515 does not support OS 4.0?"
