Nextel, Motorola, 49ers Promote Charity
Posted by Tyler Regas on September 20, 2002 10:42 AM Nextel, Motorola, and the San Francisco 49ers are urging football fans to bring their used wireless phones to 3COM park on Sunday, September 22nd of this year. The benefit will raise money for shelters and victims of domestic violence. Nextel employees will begin accepting phones of any type, brand, and condition at gates A, E, and F beginning at 9 am on the 22nd. PHM urges those who live in the Bay Area and your friends and family to make donations to this very worthy program. If you will not be attending the game all ten Nextel retail store locations in the Bay Area will be taking donations from September 23rd until October 4th. Since its inception in 1999, the program has collected over one million wireless phones. The Donate-a-Phone program can be reached here or by calling 1-888-901-SAFE. Your selfless donation of even a single wireless phone can save a life. Email This Story
