Sendo has licensed Insignia's Mobile Foundation solution for the companies as of yet unavailable Sendo Z100 Pocket PC based smartphone. The Mobile Foundation will allow the Z100 to run Java 2.0 Micro Edition applications.

Verizon has announced that it is now offering Vindigo 2.0 service for their wireless Get It Now plans. Verizon states that the bundled service offers the same functionality as the PDA version of the service. Additionally, Verizon is also now offering Thumbwork's electronic version of the classic ludite toy, the Etch A Sketch. In addition to a free demo, consumers have three purchasing options for Etch A Sketch: US$2.25 for a monthly subscription, US$5.75 for a 12-month subscription, and US$6.99 for unlimited use of the application. Initially, Etch A Sketch will only be available on the Kyocera 3035 and the Verizon Wireless Z-800.

Sega has announced, to little surprise, that it will now be distributing versions of its popular games for Pocket PC devices. Sega had announced this plan earlier this year. The venerable game company will initially be offering Super Golf, Slider, Vampire: Master of Darkness, Columns, Halley Wars, and the Sega Game Pack 4-in-1 for MIPS and ARM devices. Interestingly enough, supported devices must have four buttons and a directional pad.
