Agilent Delivers 1.6mm Infrared Transceiver

Agilent has announced general availability of their new HSDL-3208 SIR-compliant infrared transceiver, delivered in what the company calls the smallest product of its type. The device meets the IrDA-IrMC version 1.4 specification for low power serial infrared mode at 2.4 kb/s to 115 Kb/s data rates. The transceiver can also operate at an extended link distances of up to 50 cm. The IrDA specification only requires 20 cm to 30 cm ranges. Agilent is taking volume orders now. Pricing per 100 is not available.
