Nintendo has announced that it will release the Game Boy Player, an adapter for the Nintendo GameCube system, in Japan in March of 2003. The adapter allows players to play Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance cartridges on their home systems. Players will be able to use the GameCube controllers or their connected Game Boy Advance units using the special cable. Interestingly, Nintendo claims that this adapter will indirectly raise the GameCube's game count from 150 to over 1,000. Pricing has not yet been made available and there is no news of the product being released in the EU, UK, or US markets.
