iambic has announced the release of Agendus 6.0, which is really the rebadged Action Names, an application that got its start on the Apple Newton. The new version offers several new features, better integration with desktop applications, and what appears to be excellent hi-res device support.

LandWare says that their Palm OS 5.0 ready version of the addictive as all get out Shanghai Pocket Essentials is set to go. At US$19.95 this addition to your hot new Palm device is a required element. It remains to be seen if it can unseat my current Palm gaming obsession, Astraware's BookWorm.

Red Mercury has released an update to AcidImage for Palm OS 5 devices. Red Mercury is claiming a loading speed increase of 20 times the previous version. While this does remain to be seen, the company states that they are using ARM based optimizations, which should prove their claim. The US$19.95 utility works on Palm OS 3.5 devices and better.

Palm has announced, as if you hadn't heard already, that they are dumping their homegrown Graffiti technology in favor of CIC's Jot, which is nearly identical. Palm claims that the move is to better support convertible devices like the Tungsten T. We, however, think that it allows Palm to get out from under the flurry of lawsuits that keep following the cursed handwriting recognition software. The move might even be a stipulation of a secret agreement, but we have no proof beyond speculation.
